Christian McCaffrey sat out Wednesday’s practice with a back injury, but Carolina Panthers head coach Ron Rivera expects the Pro Bowl running back to be on the field Sunday in London for an NFC South matchup with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

McCaffrey injured his back somersaulting into the end zone last week and was on the sideline Wednesday as much for rest and recovery as injury.

Rivera said Thursday that McCaffrey participated fully in practice and will be without limitation the rest of the week.

McCaffrey has rushed for 587 yards and added 279 receiving yards for the Panthers (3-2). He leads the NFL in total touches with 136.

McCaffrey has played more than 98 percent of the total offensive snaps for the Panthers this season, including every offensive play in three of their five games.
