HAWKS VS HORNETS

Venue: State Farm Arena | Start: 10:30am AEDT

The Charlotte Hornets and Atlanta Hawks are neighbors at the bottom of the Southeast Division standings, and they play the first of three remaining contests Monday night in ATL. The Hornets own a four-game lead over the Hawks for last in the division and trail the Washington Wizards by just one for third. The Hornets are coming off a most improbable win over the Houston Rockets on Saturday night in Charlotte. Terry Rozier led the Hornets with 24 points and they survived a triple-double by James Harden. But they harassed Harden into 8-for-22 shooting from the floor on his way to a game-high 30 points. The Hawks come in with a three-game losing streak. They got clobbered by the Memphis Grizzlies by 17 Saturday night on the road. John Collins led the Hawks with 27 points and suffered a bruised thigh during the contest. He’s probable for Monday’s game. De’Andre Hunter (bruised knee) and Jeff Teague (illness) are both questionable. The teams have two more games in early April and have played just once so far, on Dec. 8. The Hawks went into Charlotte and defeated the Hornets, 122-107, behind Trae Young’s 30 points. He added nine assists and six rebounds.

Win: Atlanta Hawks
Line: Charlotte Hornets +4.5
Total Points: Over 225.5

JAZZ VS RAPTORS

Venue: Vivint Smart Home Arena | Start: 12:00pm AEDT

The Toronto Raptors get to put an end to their five-game road trip Monday night when they visit the red-hot Utah Jazz. The Raptors are 3-1 so far on their swing through Western Conference cities, including Sunday night’s hard-fought victory over the Sacramento Kings. The Jazz just finished a four-game road trip of their own with a 4-0 record. The Jazz have a five-game winning streak overall. The Jazz culminated their trip of the Eastern Conference with a 111-105 win over the Detroit Pistons on Saturday. Bojan Bogdanovic scored 32 points for the Jazz, who had to fend off two big Detroit rallies for the victory. Rudy Gobert made two free throws with 18.5 seconds left to ice it. The Jazz led 55-39 at halftime. The Raptors escaped with a 118-113 win over the Kings on Sunday night. Norman Powell led the Raptors with 31 points — including two free throws with 6.1 seconds remaining — and they needed every bit of it to dispose of the Kings. Kyle Lowry added 30 points and five assists. The Raptors defeated the Jazz, 130-110, on Dec. 1 in Toronto behind Pascal Siakam’s 35 points. The Raptors led by 40 at halftime.

Win: Utah Jazz
Line: Utah Jazz -4.5
Total Points: Under 225.5

NUGGETS VS BUCKS

Venue: Pepsi Center | Start: 12:00pm AEDT

The Milwaukee Bucks have their first two-game losing streak of the season and the Denver Nuggets continue to be the most infuriating team in the league. The teams get to take their frustrations out on each other Monday night in Denver. The Bucks still own the best record in the league after losing Friday night in L.A. to the Lakers and then Sunday afternoon at Phoenix to the Suns. The Bucks played without Giannis Antetokounmpo on Sunday as he sat with a minor knee sprain, and he’ll miss Monday night’s contest, too. Khris Middleton led the Bucks with a game-high 39 points vs. the Suns, a bounty the Bucks could have used against the Lakers. Middleton struggled to a 12-point outing against L.A., shooting just 5-for-19 from the floor and making just two 3-pointers. The Denver Nuggets are the 3rd seed in the Western Conference despite their inability to beat vastly inferior teams in the league. The Nuggets lost to the Cleveland Cavaliers for the second time this season, 104-102 on Saturday night. The Nuggets lost to the Golden State Warriors – in Denver – earlier this week, adding to the list of Detroit Pistons, Washington Wizards and New York Knicks as teams the Nuggets have lost to this season.

Win: Denver Nuggets
Line: Denver Nuggets -5.5
Total Points: Under 221.5
