With the Carolina Panthers officially releasing quarterback Cam Newton on Tuesday, the question facing the NFL world is, where will he play next?

That’s a question the gambling world has been asking for weeks now, and the answer depends on who you ask.

The Washington Redskins entered the week the clear-cut favorites to land Newton, with second-year quarterback Dwayne Haskins slotted as the current starter. But news broke Monday that the Redskins traded for Kyle Allen — who replaced an injured Newton in Carolina last season — and bettors looking to cash in on Newton’s landing spot suddenly have a variety of options with reasonable odds.

At DraftKings, the Jacksonville Jaguars lead the way at +250 (2.5-to-1 odds), followed by the Los Angeles Chargers and New England Patriots at +300, then the Redskins at +400. A big drop-off then comes after that, with Miami next at +1000.

Bet MGM has the same top five, but in a different order:

–Chargers (+250)
–Dolphins / Jaguars (+350)
–Patriots / Redskins (+500)

The Chargers (Philip Rivers) and Patriots (Tom Brady) are replacing longtime quarterbacks this season while the Jaguars recently traded Nick Foles away to the Bears and have second-year player Gardner Minshew penciled as their starter.

The Dolphins have spent years searching for their long-term answer at quarterback and currently have Ryan Fitzpatrick and Josh Rosen expected to battle for the starting job. But numerous prognosticators have Miami taking a quarterback with the fifth overall pick in the upcoming draft, with Alabama’s Tua Tagovailoa the name most frequently linked to the team.

The Chargers also are expected to target a quarterback in the draft and own the sixth pick. Tyrod Taylor is currently their top signal caller.
