The San Francisco 49ers agreed to a one-year deal with free agent receiver Travis Benjamin, multiple outlets reported on Tuesday.
Benjamin played in just five games for the Los Angeles Chargers last season before sustaining a season-ending quadriceps injury. He had just six receptions for 30 yards.
Overall, Benjamin has 208 receptions for 3,143 yards and 19 touchdowns in 101 games (37 starts) for the Cleveland Browns (2012-15) and Chargers (2016 in San Diego, 2017-19 in Los Angeles). His best season was 2015, when he caught 68 passes for 966 yards and five scores for the Browns.
Benjamin, 30, also has been a returner during his career and has taken four punts back for scores while averaging 10.9 yards on 109 attempts. He has a 25.5-yard average on 19 career kickoff returns.
