Flemington Race 1 Tips | 11:45 AM | 1200m

Jockey: Michael Dee | Trainer: Amy & Ash Yargi

Has struck a purple patch and shooting for hat-trick here after successive wins at Flemington and Morning when he produced powerful finishes both times. Still well treated at the weight and will be hard to hold off final 200m.

Place Tip – MYSTERY LOVE (10)

Jockey: Thomas Stockdale (a2.5kg) | Trainer: Mick Price & Michael Kent Jnr

Has to contend with a wide draw but has won four of her seven starts and must be respected back against own sex here. Fitter for two runs back from a spell and was an easy winner at Caulfield (1100m) on April 11. Well in this.

Place Tip – LOOLWAH (8)

Jockey: Damien Oliver | Trainer: Dammy O’Brien

Irish mare who has the first-up form and could surprise in her Aussie debut. Has not raced since August last year with 5th of 5 at Goodwood but won two of her previous four starts and obviously has the ability. In a top stable.

Value Bet – LANKAN STAR (2)

Jockey: Daniel Stackhouse. | Trainer: D & B Hayes & T Dabernig

Has ability and could not have been more impressive than her last start win coming from well back on the turn to beat Paul’s Regret and Felicia Caulfield 1100m April 18. Should appreciate this track.

Flemington Race 2 Tips | 12:20 PM | 1000m

Top Tip – PENTANGILI (3)

Jockey: Dwayne Dunn | Trainer: Michael Wayne & John Hawkes

Nicely bred Star Witness filly who was very impressive Flemington jumpout recently when unextended. Has the right jockey and a nice barrier and will be we supported to make a winning debut.

Place Tip – CHROME ANGEL (11)

Jockey: Jamie Kah | Trainer: M Ellerton & Simon Zahra

Has race experience on her side winning two of her three starts. Nice effort to run home solidly to win over 1000m at Warrnambool last start. Should be prominent throughout.

Place Tip – MISS BOSETTI (6)

Jockey: Regan Bayliss | Trainer: P & P Snowden

Snitzel filly who was out luck at debut when 6th to Riverina Storm at Geelong in January. Has won a Flemington Barrier trial and look for improvement.

Value Bet – YULONG COMMAND (8)

Jockey: Mark Zahra | Trainer: Anthony Freedman

$300,000 colt who makes his debut here. Runner-up in Flemington trial suggests he has the ability.

Flemington Race 3 Tips | 12:55 PM | 1600m

Top Tip – MERITED (5)

Jockey: Michael Dee | Trainer: Mick Price & Michael Kent

Took advantage of a cosy run to win Sandown 1400m before fading 5th to La Chevalee on Sandown heavy 8 track last start. Needs firm going to show its best but nice alley and should get good run in transit.

Jockey: Craig Williams | Trainer: Danny O’Brien

Has only missed a place once in her 8 starts. Looked very good in trouncing her rivals at Pakenham over 1600m April 16 but then a little disappointing when 7th in the Queen of the South at Mpphettville over the same distance. Worth forgiving here.

Place Tip – TOP PINS (4)

Jockey: Thomas Stockdale | Trainer: S B Laming

Hard to knock her consistency with 3 wins and 2 placings from her six starts. Rundown last when third at Sandown on May 2 after successive wins at Pakenham and the Gold Coast. Chance.

Value Bet – Charleise (9)

Jockey: Mark Zahra | Trainer: Maher & Eustace

Has ability and has been placed at Flemington. Sandown 1300m winner in early April and wasn’t disgraced the last start when 4 lengths 9th to Wild Vixen in the Nitschke at Morphettville.

Flemington Race 4 Tips | 1:30 AM | 1600m

Jockey: Lewis German (a3) | Trainer: T & C McEvoy

Honest gelding who will be on the speed and with German’s 3kg claim will have a nice weight pull of many of his rivals. No world beater but has won 4 of his 8 starts and is very honest.

Place Tip – SIKORSKY (10)

Jockey: Damien Oliver | Trainer: D & B Hayes & T Dabernig

Gets a big tick for D. Oliver in the saddle. Caught wide last start but battled on strongly when 2nd to Jumbo Ozaki Caufield 1400m March 18. Finished 4th in 2018 Victoria Derby so has plenty of ability on his day.

Place Tip – DUKE OF PLUMPTON (11)

Jockey: Billy Egan | Trainer: Patrick Payne

Likes sting out of the ground. Easy winner Echuca soft 7 1400m before finishing 2nd to Shot of Irish heavy 9 over 1600m at Sandown on May 2. Will be in the finish.

Value Bet – BLACK SAIL (9)

Jockey: Theodore Nugent (a2kg) | Trainer: Maher & Eustace

Has plenty of weight but has been placed a few times at Flemington. Has been out of luck last few runs but can surprise at long odds.

Flemington Race 5 Tips | 2:10 PM | 1000m

Top Tip – PREZADO (6)

Jockey: Jamie Kah | Trainer: Ellerton & Zahra

Races well at Flemington and is a winner this course. Forget Bendigo failure and judge on smart win over The Inevitable when running fast 32.5 last 600m sectionals. Like to short trip.

Place Tip – KING OF HASTINGS (8)

Jockey: Michael Poy (a1.5kg) | Trainer: Anthony Freedman

One start for one win over this course last December and was also a 1030m winner at Rosehill late last year. Resuming here and usually sprints well fresh. Among the main hopes.

Place Tip – MILWAUKEE (7)

Jockey: Lewis German | Trainer: M D Moroney

Goes well up the straight but yet to win at 1000m. Ran a solid 4th up the 1000m straight behind Prezado last start so has to be included among the chances on that effort.

Jockey: Jordan Childs | Trainer: G M Begg

Last few runs have been disappointing but can improve sharply with the right run here.

Flemington Race 6 Tips | 2:50 AM | 2800m

Jockey: Damien Oliver | Trainer: Danny O’Brien.

Looks a good stayer in the making. Made a mess of his rivals in winning the Adelaide Cup 3200m in March and prior to that won 2600m Hcp at Flemington in a very smart fashion. Take beating.

Place Tip – TOO CLOSE TO THE SUN (2)

Jockey: Declan Bates | Trainer: T Smith

This gelding has an imposing record of 7 wins from his 13 starts and comes into the race as the winner of the Warrnambool Cup over 2350m on a soft 7 track. Must be respected.

Place Tip – DARK ALLEY (6)

Jockey: Craig Williams | Trainer: P A Preusker

Wins at Geelong (last start) and Morphettville in February split by solid 4th to King of Leogrance in two-mile Adelaide Cup. That form is solid for a race like this.

Value Bet – GOOD IDEA (8)

Jockey: Ben Thompson | Trainer: Peter Stokes

Has been placed over the 2600m here and come under strong notice for his second to King of Leogrance in the Adelaide Cup (3200m) when beaten 2.3 lengths.

Flemington Race 7 Tips | 3:30 PM | 2000m

Top Tip – RUPTURE (3)

Jockey: Jordan Childs | Trainer: L P A Preuser

Looks one of the bets of the day and is likely to try and lead throughout from good barrier. Did just that over 1700m at Flemington last start on April 25 after winning the Warracknabeal Cup. Top chance.

Place Tip – SCHABAU (5)

Jockey: Declan Bates | Trainer: Robert Hickmott

Having the first start for over 12 months but his form prior to a spell included a hat-trick of Flemington with two of them over the 2000m and the other over 2600m so he has been highly respected. Has won his last 5 starts, two of them in Germany. Has won first-up before.

Place Tip – SUPER TITUS (9)

Jockey: Luke Nolen | Trainer: D & B Hayes & T Dabernig

Doing best work late when 3rd to Rupture Flemington 1700m April 25 and Caulfield placing was also a nice run. Each-way.

Value Bet – KENTUCKY BREEZE (12)

Jockey: Jamie Kah | Trainer: Levi Kavanagh

Willing to overlook last start flop at Flemington after solid Caulfield 1600m win on soft track April 11.

Flemington Race 8 Tips | 4:10 AM | 1400m

Top Tip – HEPTAGON (5)

Jockey: Michael Dee | Trainer: Mick Price & Michael Kent

One at a bit of value to end the day although on form he needs to lift a little. Has won 7 of his 28 starts and has a distinct liking for the 1400m journey. Kilmore Cup placegetter late last year and improved by one run back from a spell when 5th to Order of Command at Warrnambool.

Place Tip – ICONOCIASM (3)

Jockey: Damien Olver | Trainer: Danny O’Brien

Well placed here and hard to beat. Solid third to So Si Bon over 1600m at Caulfield April 16 ideal for this type of race. Has performed well in a stronger class than this. Will go close.

Place Tip – ACHENAR STAR (8)

Jockey: Lewis German (a3kg) | Trainer: Len Smith

Will carry 59kg with German’s claim. Tried to lead throughout when 2nd to Buffalo River Sandown 1400m heavy 9 May 2. Has some sound WA form to recommend here.

Value Bet – A SHIN ROCK (18)

Jockey: Mark Zahra | Trainer: Anthony Freedman

Will need some luck from this draw but could swoop home.Got up late coming from well back to win Morphettville 1400m April 25. That form is good enough for this.

Flemington Race 9 Tips | 4:45 AM | 1400m

Top Tip – BEEHUNTER (2)

Jockey: Damien Oliver | Trainer: John Sadler

Looked decidedly unlucky last start after missing the kick and being hampered in running when 2nd to Kuramee over this course and distance. Oliver takes over and could go one better.

Place Tip – ORIENZEL (5)

Jockey: Michael Walker | Trainer: Mick Price & Michael Kent

Nice type who is proven at the 1400m journey. Easy last start win over 1400m of soft going at Pakenham last start racing just off the pace after solid Echuca second to Duke of Plumpton. Can measure up here.

Place Tip – FIELD MAN (9)

Jockey: Thomas Stockdale (a2kg) | Trainer: N Harnett

Hard to ignore a horse which has won 4 of his past 5 starts. Gets a claim which will help and chances help if the track is rain-affected. Comes to town off the back of wins at Sandown (twice) and Pakenham all over 1200m. This is a good test.

Jockey: Ben Melham | Trainer: Mitchell Freedman

Gives the impression this track and distance will suit ideally. Has run home nicely in last two starts the latest when 4th to Xilong Morphettville 1200 to beaten less than a length.
