Gold Coast Race 1 Tips | 11:19 AM | 1200m

Top Tip – FISTICUFFS (12)

Jockey: M McGillivray | Trainer: Toby & Trent Edmonds

Three runs back from a spell have all been good. First up win as favourite D’ben in March was top effort then hit the line well latest 4th stablemate Baroda 1200m GC May 1. Alley is a bit tricky but shows a lot of promise.

Place Tip – HERITASH SASH (3)

Jockey: N Keal | Trainer: Toby & Trent Edmonds

Has a nice draw like the last run when edged out in this class over 1100m GC May 1. Has three wins this trip and good record this track. Extra distance suits and claim for Nick Keal a big plus. Looks a big threat.

Jockey: R Maloney | Trainer: J Smerdon

Former Syd sprinter having the first start for new stable. Chased all the way and only tired late close 4th W Farm April 29. Nice 2nd Kensington before and worth some thought.

Value Bet – PURE PULSE (6)

Jockey: Undeclared | Trainer: C Anderson

Raced off the pace all the way when resumed latest a length 3rd The Tenor 1050m D’ben C3 May 2. Yet to win in four starts this trip but fitter for the second run since mid-Dec. Should get a gun run from draw and any rain would help.

Gold Coast Race 2 Tips | 11:54 AM | 2200m

Jockey: R Fradd | Trainer: K Lees

One of three runners from Kris Lees’ stable and should be getting home strongly in likely fast run race. Easy winner over 2200m this track two starts back then beaten as fav when runner-up behind Magnufighter over 2000m D’ben May 2. Fradd booking a plus.

Place Tip – QUALITY SEEKER (1)

Jockey: M McGillivray | Trainer: C Maher & D Eustace

Likely to take up a prominent spot behind leaders from the rails. Tried to lead all the way last run when overhauled late by stablemate Mongolian Wolf over 2200m GC April 24. Has the experience of McGillivray this time and could bounce back.

Place Tip – LE JUGE (4)

Jockey: M Cahill | Trainer: C Waller

Has been knocking on the door of another win lately with placings last two starts. Hit line well latest 3rd Mongolian Wolf 2200m GC last month after similar effort same conditions here two weeks earlier. Drops of 2kgs on past two runs a key factor.

Jockey: C Bayliss | Trainer: K Lees

Led all the way for easy B90 win over this trip here April 9 then sat midfield and failed to go on with it when near 9 lengths last of six Mongolian Wolf 2200m GC April 24. Better than the last run suggests and worth another chance.

Gold Coast Race 3 Tips | 12:29 PM | 1400m

Top Tip – HE’S IMPOSING (3)

Jockey: J Huxtable | Trainer: S O’Dea

Proved too strong against moderate opposition when resumed with easy 4 lengths win 1300m SCoast April 29. Came from well back that day and bound to benefit further from the first run since failing 2400m R’wick Dec 26. Drawn well and should look the winner on the turn.

Place Tip – THE CHOSEN ONE (5)

Jockey: M Cahill | Trainer: N McBurney

Former “Wyong Wizard” McBurney has a promising stayer in the making on his hands following his impressive Mdn win this track April 17. Since ran on solidly for game 4th 1400m SCoast C1 May 6. Will get better over the ground but has each-way claims.

Place Tip – PAY WITH CASH (12)

Jockey: L Dittman | Trainer: G Heinrich

Liked his win last time when beat a few useful ones in Glen Ord and Great Keppell over 1400m GC May 1. That was the first time over this trip after stepping up from fast-finishing 4th over 1200m GC April 17. Looks a suitable race if Dittman can find a nice position from an awkward draw.

Value Bet – GLEN ORD (11)

Jockey: C Taylor | Trainer: D Murphy

More than capable type on his day. Showed a glimpse of his best last time when tried to lead all the way when 2nd to Pay With Cash 1400m GC May 1. That was first run since late Feb and looks good value.

Gold Coast Race 4 Tips | 1:04 PM | 1400m

Top Tip – ICONISTA (11)

Jockey: J Huxtable | Trainer: C Munce

The awkward draw leaves this talented filly with no choice but to try to lead again like her latest all the win in 1600m D’ben Mdn May 2. Hasn’t put a foot wrong since joining Munce stable this year and will take catching again.

Place Tip – AMICITIA (3)

Jockey: J Byrne | Trainer: T Gollan

Has to contend with a big weight after slashing last start 4th 1350m D’ben April 18 which followed fast-finishing 1350m D’ben win in March. Nicely drawn and looks a big threat.

Place Tip – LASHONI (15)

Jockey: B Nothdurft | Trainer: T Gollan

A wide draw won’t be a disadvantage for this mare who likes to get back in her races. Came from last on the home turn last time out for close up 5th 1350m D’ben after a win and placing over 1350m D’ben in March. Will be storming home late.

Value Bet – TZIPORAH (6)

Jockey: R Fradd | Trainer: Toby & Trent Edmonds

Trained on track and has a good record here but yet to win in six starts this distance. Placed 1350m Ipswich two starts back then looked every chance when battling 6th Pay With Cash 1400m GC May 1. A win would not surprise at good odds.

Gold Coast Race 5 Tips | 1:39 PM | 1200m

Top Tip – MASLOW (9)

Jockey: J Byrne | Trainer: Toby & Trent Edmonds

One of three Team Edmonds runners and could be the pick of them after fast-finishing 2nd 1200m GC C6 May 1. Good effort to score as fav over 1110m GC in April. Byrne booking is an interesting engagement replacing Michael Cahill.

Place Tip – SOXAGON (3)

Jockey: B Stewart | Trainer: M Currie

Has an excellent record with four wins and five placings from 13 starts including latest fast-finishing win this grade over 1200m GC May 1. Drops sharply in weight and looks a major player from a good draw. Maps to sit just off the pace.

Place Tip – THINE IS THE POWER (11)

Jockey: A Mallyon | Trainer: Toby & Trent Edmonds

Another from the Team Edmonds yard. Big winner over 1050m D’ben March 18 then sent out short priced fav for another easy win when stepping up to 1200m GC April 17. Has drawn awkwardly but will be hard to toss if finds a position close to the fence.

Value Bet – THE PINES (8)

Jockey: R Fradd | Trainer: Toby & Trent Edmonds

Was resuming two runs back when moderate 7th as fav 1200m GC C6 April 9 then beaten 3-3/4 lengths when 5th to Toowoomba sprinter Soxagon 1200m GC C6 May 1. Cherry ripe for this and could atone.

Gold Coast Race 6 Tips | 2:19 PM | 1200m

Jockey: Robbie Fradd | Trainer: Toby & Trent Edmonds

The highly promising colt who ran a great race to finish on heels of placegetters in Magic Millions Classic here in January. Was never troubled strolling home by more than 5 lengths first-up over 1200m this track May 1. Has plenty of speed and should get a gun run from barrier two. The one to beat.

Place Tip – SPOKESMAN (4)

Jockey: Matt McGillivray | Trainer: C Waller

A Press Statement colt who cost $270,000 as a yearling and is well on the way to returning his outlay. Won two of three starts including impressive last start win on a heavy track at W Farm in April. Not much rain insight here and barrier trialled well R’hill May 8. Should sit just off the pace from good draw.

Place Tip – SAFFIANO (5)

Jockey: Ryan Maloney | Trainer: C Waller

The nice-looking colt who cost $600,000 as a yearling and was quick to return some of it with a last start 1400-metre win at R’hill on April 25. G1 winning Jockey Ryan Maloney should get the best out of him from the nice draw and will be in the finish.

Value Bet – MINJEE (7)

Jockey: Michael Cahill | Trainer: R Heathcote

Faces her biggest test to date after hitting the line strongly to win the last two starts at D’ben. Came from near last on the turn last time to score narrowly for apprentice Steph Thornton. With Michael Cahill back on deck watching for her late. Capable of an upset at good odds.

Gold Coast Race 7 Tips | 2:59 PM | 1800m

Jockey: B Nothdurft | Trainer: T Gollan

Showed she was looking for this trip after fast-finishing 2nd 1350m Dben April 18 then ran home fairly for midfield finish behind Mr Bellagio 1350m B78 May 2. Yet to win past 1350m but gets chance to breakthrough in this from handy gate.

Place Tip – CALIBRATION (10)

Jockey: A Mallyon | Trainer: K Lees

Found the best form when raced handy all the way last start with dominant win over 2200m D’ben March 28. That was an improvement on previous 7th 1845m EFarm March 21. Yet to win this track but gets chance here.

Place Tip – KING’S FULL (1)

Jockey: J Guthmann-Chester | Trainer: K Fogden

Consistent gelding with a win and three placings past four. Showed great fight latest when led all the way for dominant win 1800m this track April 24. Goes well this track and expected to take a lot of catching.

Value Bet – BRAINS (8)

Jockey: A Thompson | Trainer: T Gollan

A stablemate of Light Up The Room and looks a big threat. Liked his effort last time when came from near last on the turn for game 7th over 1400m SCoast April 25. Has placed this trip and should be primed third run in.

Gold Coast Race 8 Tips | 3:29 PM | 1200m

Jockey: Jim Orman | Trainer: S Tregea

Big wraps on this gelding who is touted as a possible Stradbroke contender. Won first three starts including a big win over the highly-rated Vanna Girl over 1350m Doomben May 28. Freshened up latest when fast-finishing 2nd 900m Gold Coast scamper May 8. This is his biggest test but expects him to pass with flying colours.

Place Tip – THE ODYSSEY (14)

Jockey: Stephanie Thornton | Trainer: K Schweida

Will crack $1m in prizemoney with a placing here. Looking to extend his winning sequence to four but a wide draw poses a problem. Outstanding effort to lead all the way when freshened 1200m Doomben May 2. Has to go forward from a bad draw and will be in it a long way.

Place Tip – HIGH TAIL (8)

Jockey: Ryan Maloney | Trainer: Peter & Paul Snowden

Has to experience this track after an eye-catching run when flashed home from last for 4th to Alligator Blood MM Guineas Jan 11. Since resumed with another fast-finishing effort to narrowly win over 1250 Kensington May 2. Gosford Guineas winner who will take plenty of beating.

Value Bet – STAMPE (1)

Jockey: Sean McCormack | Trainer: C Munce

Never runs a bad race and from the rails draw will give a great sight. Can either lead or take a sit and in a fast run race will be there all the way. Found it a fraction too far when 4th 1600m Sunshine Coast last run and has been freshened for this.

Gold Coast Race 9 Tips | 4:19 PM | 1200m

Top Tip – MULTAJA (6)

Jockey: Robbie Fradd | Trainer: J Cummings

Looks to be plenty of speed in this to suit this Darley mare who likes to get back in her races. Had one behind her last run on home turn when hit line strongly for 5th Sweet Scandal G3 1300m Hawk Crown R’hill Anzac Day. Fradd booking a big plus. Rates highly.

Place Tip – NIEDORP (16)

Jockey: B Nothdruft | Trainer: T Gollan

Talented filly chasing three straight and has the speed to overcome a horror draw. Returned home after Melb spring campaign to easily win Doomben April 4 then sat off the speed to beat stablemate Garibaldi over 1110m dash Dben April 18. Strong chance.

Place Tip – JEN RULES (15)

Jockey: D Smith | Trainer: Peter & Paul Snowden

The consistent mare who has won four of her 16 starts and is a winner this trip. Was specked in betting the last run when made up a lot of ground to score dominant win 1200m R’wick April 18. Impressive trial winner since and could be running on.

Value Bet – RESIN (10)

Jockey: L Cassidy | Trainer: J Cummings

Godolphin mare who hasn’t been far away in the better company of late. Did the best work late when 2 lengths 6th Listed Hawk Rush R’hill April 25. Placed G3 Wenona Girl Rwick March 7. Should be able to get a good trail across from awkward gate and Larry Cassidy’s experience is a big plus.
