Queensland coach Kevin Walters is open to welcoming Greg Inglis back to State of Origin as the veteran makes his return to rugby league.
Inglis, 33, has signed a one-year deal with Super League side Warrington Wolves for 2021, it was announced on Tuesday.
The former Australia and Maroons star retired last year after a stellar career in the NRL, Origin and at international level.
Inglis made 32 appearances for Queensland between 2006 and 2018, and Walters would be open to having the veteran feature for his state again.
“Of course it can happen,” he told Fox Sports on Wednesday.
“You’ve always got to keep your options open everywhere and Greg was such a fantastic player for the Maroons over that period of time that he played for us.

“Unfortunately, he didn’t get to go out on his terms as such, so it’s always an open invitation when you play for the Maroons.
“We’ve pulled some great players out of retirement and back into the jersey and with huge success, so Greg would certainly fall into that category.”
