Flemington Race 1 Tips | 11:40 AM | 2500m

Top Tip – YONKERS (4)

Jockey: Craig Williams | Trainer: Chris Waller

Down from Sydney. Ran on strongly to win Kensington May 2 1800m. Has placed at 2400m in Ireland and won its lone start on a heavy track. One whose best is still in front of it and suspect it should go close in this.

Place Tip – SASKO (2)

Jockey: Thomas Stockdale (a2) | Trainer: Matt Cumani

Back in form with an all the way win at Warrnambool May 6. Hasn’t got a great Flemington record but loves a wet track and will run the trip out strongly. Will carry 58kg as it did in that recent victory. Long odds but a chance.

Place Tip – GOOD IDEA (3)

Jockey: Ben Thompson | Trainer: Phillip Stokes

Has been racing consistently and no problem with the trip here but yet to place on a heavy track and how wet it is can play on its chances. Right sort of field and still worth including.

Flemington Race 2 Tips | 12:15 PM | 1400m

Top Tip – KHOEKHOE (1)

Jockey: Fred Kersley | Trainer: Matt Cumani

Was always travelling well and powered home to win the rich Showdown at Caulfield Apr 18. Gave the impression the extra distance here will suit and handles wet ground. Has enough weight but has earned it and take holding out.

Place Tip – IMMORTAL LOVE (5)

Jockey: Craig Newitt | Trainer: Mick Price & Michael Kent Jnr.

Backed on debut and good winner at Echuca May 4 when settled third the fence and hit the line strongly. Well-bred being by Snitzel whose progeny handle wet tracks as a rule. On the up and can give it a shake.

Place Tip – INDICTMENT (4)

Jockey: Ben Melham | Trainer: Ken Keys

Settled midfield and couldn’t finish off in Gr.3, company Morphettville May 9. Best run to date was here over this trip when narrowly missed on Apr 25. Basically unproven on really wet ground but that can be said about most here.

Flemington Race 3 Tips | 12:50 PM | 1400m

Top Tip – MISS LEILA (13)

Jockey: Craig Williams | Trainer: Neville Parnham

Was caught wide and did a really good job to place on Sandown-Hillside May 13. Yet to miss a place and handles wet ground. Can get cover from this draw and Williams staying with her. Good hope at decent odds.

Place Tip: SHE SHAO FLY (3)

Jockey: Dwayne Dunn | Trainer: Tony and Calvin McEvoy

Placed when first-up behind Barbie’s Fox Caulfield May 9 1200m. Took a while to hit full flight only doing it in the final stages and the jump up to 1400m looks most suitable. No problems with a wet track and looks over the odds.

Place Tip – BARBIE’S FOX (1)

Jockey: Lewis German (a3) | Trainer: Louise Bonella

Powered home from the tail to win first-up Caulfield May 9 on a heavy track 1200m. Apprentice’s claim offsets the handicap penalty and is a second up a winner. Has placed at Gr2 level at 1400m.and well worth including again.

Flemington Race 4 Tips | 1:30 PM | 1100m

Jockey: Michael Rodd | Trainer: Mark Kavanagh

Has been freshened up after 1200m flop here when favourite. Quite consistent before that and has raced well down the Flemington straight without winning. No problems with a wet track. Open race but can breakthrough here.

Place Tip – PINYAN (14)

Jockey: Jessica Eaton (a,2) | Trainer: Jim Conlan

Resuming. Rarely missed a place and has raced well down the straight here. Placed all three first upstarts and likes wet tracks best. Gets in with a lightweight with the Eaton claim and wouldn’t sell short in this race.

Place Tip – EL QUESTRO (10)

Jockey: Chelsea Hall | Trainer: Allison Sheehan

Resuming. An Honest type who likes wet tracks best. Is a first-up winner and will run out 1200m strongly., First try down the straight track but one at odds who is capable of sneaking into the money.

Flemington Race 5 Tips | 2:05 PM | 2000m

Top Tip – TRANSLATOR (9)

Jockey: Craig Williams | Trainer: Nigel Blackiston

Won both starts since coming back from a spell on provincial tracks. Was good enough to make the Victoria Derby at this track in the spring and will have no problem with 2000m here or the wet ground.

Place Tip – HEZAFOX (4)

Jockey: Michael Poy (a,1.5) | Trainer: Greg Eurell

Beat a similar field at Sandown-Lakeside May 2 fair and square when outsprinted them late. Goes well on heavy tracks and still on the up. Drawn to get a smother and to ping at them late.

Place Tip – GAME KEEPER (1)

Jockey: Damien Oliver | Trainer: Tony & Calvin McEvoy

Made them look second rate when it powered home to win the Adelaide Guineas Morphettville May 9 1600m. Up in weight and distance, the challenge but has Oliver to help and undefeated all year.

Flemington Race 6 Tips | 2:45 PM | 1200m

Top Tip – MISS IANO (10)

Jockey: Ben Melham | Trainer: Mark C Webb

Good wet tracker who wasn’t far away in the Wangoom at Warrnambool May 6 when closed late. Has raced well down the straight here including a placing at Gr.3, level. Ready to give it its best shot.

Place Tip – HAUNTED (6)

Jockey: Damien Oliver | Trainer: James Cummings

Settled outside the leader where they went a touch too quick when faded at Morphettville Apr 25. Has run some handy races down the straight here and Oliver aboard always a good sign. Handles wet tracks and right in it.

Place Tip – MILWAUKEE (7)

Jockey: Jye McNeil | Trainer: Michael Moroney

Races best down the straight here and narrowly beaten May 16 when reached the lead and caught late by the outside division. Goes best at 1200m. Doesn’t want it bottomless wet but a decent chance otherwise.

Flemington Race 7 Tips | 3:25 PM | 1800m

Top Tip – SUPRE (11)

Jockey: Dwayne Dunn | Trainer: Lloyd Kennewell

Was always travelling like the winner in easy Caulfield win May 9 on a heavy track 1600m. Up to 1800m but bred to run it out if not prefer it. Gets a draw where Dunn can place it to advantage and can make it two on the trot.

Place Tip – MASAFF (1)

Jockey: Michael Poy (a,1.5) | Trainer: Chris Waller

Irish import who worked home well on Australian debut at Randwick May 9 though it never looking a winning chance. Fitter and he extra distance certainly play in its favour and trainer gets a quick look to see if Flemington suits for later plans. Must include in selections.

Place Tip – AUSSIE NUGGET (10)

Jockey: Jye McNeil | Trainer: Anthony Freedman

Showed it can handle a heavy track when flashed home late to place at Caulfield May 9 1600m beating some in this to the line. Is a 1800m winner and comes to Flemington for the first time with strong form. Look for it late.

Flemington Race 8 Tips | 4:05 PM | 1600m

Top Tip – SO SI BON (2)

Jockey: Thomas Stockdale (a,2) | Trainer: David & Ben Hayes, Tom Dabernig

Has appreciated getting away from black-type racing lately and certainly an easy Caulfield May 9 winner. Flemington record doesn’t read great but has won here and handled wet ground. Can make it a hat-trick

Jockey: Craig Williams | Trainer: Robert Hickmott

Hasn’t raced since July. German import having its first Australian start. Yet to finish further back than second. Is Gr.1, placed but untried on a wet track. Betting probably the best guide but Williams aboard is a good sign and would want to show something here if spring plans are in the midst.

Place Tip – MR MARATHON MAN (7)

Jockey: Michael Dee | Trainer: Michael Moroney

Settled at the tail and made late ground in unsuitable 1200m race at Warrnambool. Up to 1600m here which is in its winning range and is a second up winner in the past. Likes wet tracks and certainly, a value bet.

Flemington Race 9 Tips | 4:38 PM | 1100m

Top Tip – CAN’T BE DONE (7)

Jockey: Jamie Mott | Trainer: Danny O’Brien

Resuming. Missed a place just one (when 4th) and has raced well down the straight here. Is a first-up winner. Hasn’t had that many starts and has quite possibly improved over the break. Handles wet tracks and good hope in an open race.

Place Tip – ALBURQ (5)

Jockey: Michael Poy (a,1.5) | Trainer: Michael Moroney

Has won down the Flemington straight at 1200m and coming into this in decent form. Seems to get on well with the apprentice and looking for another good showing here.

Place Tip – THE ASTROLOGIST (11)

Jockey: Dwayne Dunn | Trainer: Tony and Calvin McEvoy

Really good first-up run when flashed home late from last to place Caulfield May 9 1000m. Both its wins have been at 1200m and won its lone second upstart. and handles wet tracks. Big horse and straight track can suit.
