The track conditions are a Good 4 with no rain expected for race day. Caulfield Race 1 Tips | 11:40 AM | 1100m

Top Tip – JABALI RIDGE (1)

Jockey: Damien Oliver | Trainer: Mick Price & Michael Kent Jnr

Down the track in Blue Diamond Prelude Feb 8 1100m before going for a break. Will find this more suitable. The big weight the challenge but has Oliver on to help and well worth including.

Place Tip – CRYSTAL CHIEF (6)

Jockey: Daniel Stackhouse | Trainer: Mathew Ellerton & Simon Zahra

Settled at the tail on debut but finished hard when placed Flemington May 16 when had some support at long odds. Well drawn here and may be able to settle up closer. Right in it.

Top 4 Tip – ISLAND JOY (11)

Jockey: Jamie Kah | Trainer: Mathew Ellerton & Simon Zahra

Was caught three wide without cover all the way but still too good on debut at Cranbourne May 15. Getting barrier one here and can get a nice smother behind them in this. Worth serious thought

Top Tip – PAUL’S REGRET (6)

Jockey: Craig Williams | Trainer: Peter Chow

Good effort Caulfield May 9 when settled back from a wide draw and worked home well late having to switch course in the straight. Can settle closer from this draw and take holding out.

Place Tip – BUTTON EXPRESS (5)

Jockey: Billy Egan | Trainer: Danny O’Brien

Was caught three wide throughout when dash to the lead in the straight and reeled in late at first run at Caulfield May 9. Has a better draw here. Still on the up and in-form hoop aboard.


Jockey: Dwayne Dunn | Trainer: Kevin Corstens

Has been good so far winning both starts at the provincials. Can settle up close and drawn to get a gun run here and jockey Dunn happy to stick with it. Handles wet and dry and should be respected.

Caulfield Race 3 Tips | 12:50 PM | 1200m

Top Tip – LEITER (10)

Jockey: Lewis German (a3) | Trainer: Tom Hughes

Found the 1400m a bit far when placed here May 9 but tried hard to the line. Getting back to 1200m here. Gets in light with the German claim and can settle just behind the pace and finish off hard.

Place Tip – RUBAN BLEU (6)

On the seven day back up after it got close at Flemington down the straight last week when trekked on the inner side which was probably the wrong side. Has raced well at Caulfield. Top chance.

Jockey: Teodore Nugent (a2) | Trainer: Ciaron Maher & David Eustace

Import from England having its first start in Australia. Its lone win was at 1400m. Has a good draw and getting weight off via the apprentice. Keep an eye on betting in particular.

Caulfield Race 4 Tips | 1:30 PM | 1600m

Top Tip – RIGHT YOU ARE (4)

Jockey: Damien Oliver | Trainer: Mick Price & Michael Kent Jnr

Was getting pushed before the turn but got going on tight Werribee track to win easily 1400m May 7. Bigger track here and step up to 1600m both suit and Oliver sticking with it. On the up.

Impressed at Cranbourne at its past two starts particularly May 8 when led and bolted in. Moving up to 1600m and yet to win at it but coming back a better horse. Drawn to lead and give cheek.

Has been consistent at 1400m lately but by So You Think and will appreciate the rise up to 1600m here. Has early dash to land in a forward position early. Ready to show its best.

Caulfield Race 5 Tips | 2:05 PM | 1200m

Top Tip – KENYAN WONDER (14)

Jockey: Jamie Kah | Trainer: Ryan Balfour

Has been unplaced in Group races in Adelaide lately when drawn and caught wide. Hasn’t been disgraced and gets a good draw and lightweight here. Can get a smother and make a late play at big odds.

Place Tip – GODODDIN (7)

Jockey: Brad Rawiller | Trainer: James Cummings

Lost no admirers when caught late at Flemington 1200m down the straight May 16. Goes best at this track and distance and can settle in the top five early. Handles wet and dry ground.

Top 4 Tip – JAMAICAN HURRY (11)

Jockey: Michael Dee | Trainer: Amy & Ash Yargi

Gave them a start and a beating Flemington May 16 beating home Gododdin. That made it three wins in a row. First try at Caulfield. Will be a long way back but racing in good heart and wouldn’t sell short.

Top Tip – NEWS GIRL (4)

Jockey: Lewis German (a3) | Trainer: Geoff Duryea

Has a liking for Caulfield and got the job done there May 9 when beat subsequent Sydney winner Coruscate. Gets in well on weights again with the German claim. His task getting in from a wide draw early

Place Tip – INN KEEPER (6)

Jockey: Craig Williams | Trainer: Symon Wilde

Has been getting closer since coming back from a spell. Getting a gun draw here and Williams aboard and can settle third the fence. Is a Caulfield winner and likes 1100m best. Can win at double figure odds

Led and fought on well when not far away but missed a place in the Listed Wangoom 1200m at Warrnambool. Been creditable in black type races lately. Has early speed to take up a good position.

Was always traveling like the winner in easy Flemington May 9 when it hit the line strongly. Same weight, similar draw and Oliver sticks with him. Bene okay at Caulfield to date without winning. Can do it here

Settled back in the field but hit the line in determined fashion when place Sandown Lakeside May 2. That was just its second run for the year. Fitter and comes with a light weight after the claim. The value bet.

West Australian who had its first try in Victoria when placed at Ballarat May 10 in a small field, That was its first try on a heavy track and can appreciate a dryer one here, Look for it late.

Was held up for room but got through in the straight and picked up impressively to win at Cranbourne May 15. Knows how to win and can get a gun run from a inner draw here.

Settled just off the speed and hit the line well when won Caulfield May 9 at this trip. In form and well worth including again.

Top Tip – GIRL TUESDAY (6)

Had no luck when unplaced at Morphettville May 16 when never got a clear run at them. Went to the line with something in hand. Get Oliver this time and is capable of making amends.

Place Tip – CHAROSSA (14)

Worked home well at Flemington May 23 at 1600m when out sprinted late, Up to 2000m here and yet to miss a place at the trip. Getting barrier one and can settle up closer. Right in it

Settles back and finishes off hard. Has been good lately and likes the trip and Caulfield. Drawn to settle a little closer than usual and getting a suitable field here.
