BUCKS VS MAGIC

AdventHealth Arena | 6:00am AEST

The top-seeded Milwaukee Bucks can close out the eighth-seeded Orlando Magic with a victory in Game 5 of their Eastern Conference quarterfinal series on Wednesday in the NBA bubble near Orlando. Milwaukee is coming off three straight victories by margins of 15, 14 and 15 points. The Bucks’ high-powered offense has scored 121 points in each of its past two games, and Giannis Antetokounmpo has fully taken control. The mega-talented 25-year-old already has enjoyed a great week in which he was named the 2019-20 NBA Defensive Player of the Year, his first such honor. He became the fifth player in NBA history to win both the Most Valuable Player and Defensive Player of the Year honors during his career. Antetokounmpo is shooting 74.3 percent (26 of 35) over his last two games and has posted a double-double in every game of the series against Orlando. As for the Magic, Nikola Vucevic is coming off a team-high 31 points on 11-for-20 shooting, but no one else in the starting lineup scored more than 15. Milwaukee is 7-1 against Orlando, including a four-game series sweep in the regular season.

LAKERS VS TRAIL BLAZERS

AdventHealth Arena | 11:00am AEST

The Los Angeles Lakers can advance to the second round of the playoffs with a win over the Portland Trail Blazers on Wednesday in the NBA bubble near Orlando. Los Angeles owns the top seed in the Western Conference and has built a 3-1 series lead over the eighth-seeded Portland Trail Blazers thanks to three straight victories. Portland stole the first game 100-93 but has since lost by 23 points, eight points and 20 points as it senses the series slipping away. Complicating matters for Portland is an injury to its best player, Damian Lillard, who has been ruled out for Game 5 because of a right knee sprain. Lillard has been nothing short of phenomenal during the NBA restart, and his absence leaves Portland with a significant void in the backcourt. The Trail Blazers will ask for more from guard CJ McCollum, and possibly Anfernee Simons, but nothing will come easy against the Lakers’ potent lineup. Los Angeles has been led by Anthony Davis with 26.5 points per game in the series, while LeBron James is averaging 25.3 points per contest. This will be James’ 244th career playoff game. He has 7,012 points in the postseason, which ranks No. 1 all-time.
