BEARS VS BUCCANEERS
Soldier Field | 11:20am (AEST)
A furious rally to beat the Chargers spurred by Tom Brady’s five touchdown passes has the Buccaneers at 3-1 entering a primetime meeting with the 3-1 Bears, who dropped their first game of the season at home to the Colts on Sunday. Not much worked for the Chicago offense in Week 4, the first game with Nick Foles as the starter over Mitchell Trubisky. Foles has helped WR Allen Robinson re-emerge as a force, and the Buccaneers didn’t cover deep passes effectively in the first half against the Chargers on Sunday. More field-stretching throws are needed to open the running lanes David Montgomery hasn’t seen regularly. The Buccaneers are clicking on offense and Ronald Jones has nailed down the No. 1 running back job while Tampa deals with myriad injuries at wide receiver. Chris Godwin (hamstring) is unlikely to be back on the short week, which puts Mike Evans and Scotty Miller in Brady’s crosshairs. Without tight end O.J. Howard, who was lost for the season on Sunday, Rob Gronkowski could become a big part of the passing game for the first time this season.
