Myles Garrett will miss the Cleveland Browns’ Week 11 clash with the Philadelphia Eagles after being placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list.

Garrett’s new roster designation means he has either tested positive for coronavirus or has come into contact with another person who has contracted the virus.

Earlier on Friday the Browns released a statement confirming that a player had tested positive for COVID-19.

Garrett leads the NFL in sacks this season, having registered 9.5 in eight games. He also has an NFL-high four forced fumbles.

His absence is a significant blow to a Browns team looking to move to 7-3 in a crowded AFC playoff race by beating the Eagles, who lead the dismal NFC East with a 3-5-1 record.

Garrett likely would have added to his sack tally against Philadelphia. The Eagles have allowed the most sacks (35) in the NFL.

Philadelphia’s NFC East rivals the New York Giants confirmed that three players had tested positive for COVID-19. The Giants are on their bye this week.
