Three members of the Toronto Raptors organization tested positive for COVID-19 during the league-mandated testing period prior to training camp, the team announced Monday.
“All three are, and will continue to, self-isolate away from the rest of the organization,” the team said in a statement.
“Adherence to protocols, follow-up testing and contact tracing has so far revealed no spread to other members of the organization. We will continue to follow safety protocols, and will update the situation as appropriate.”
The team did not identify whether players, coaches or other staff members tested positive.
The Raptors are temporarily located in Tampa, Fla., because of travel restrictions in and out of Canada during the pandemic.
Their first preseason game is scheduled for Saturday night in Charlotte against the Hornets, with the regular season slated to begin Dec. 23 against the New Orleans Pelicans at Amalie Arena in Tampa.
