The Dallas Cowboys activated rookie cornerback Trevon Diggs from the reserve/injured list on Saturday ahead of Sunday’s game against the San Francisco 49ers.

Diggs, 22, had been out since suffering a foot injury on Nov. 8 against the Pittsburgh Steelers. A second-round draft pick out of Alabama, Diggs has been effective for the Cowboys in his first season with 48 tackles, 10 passes defended and two interceptions in nine games (all starts).

Dallas also had cornerback Chidobe Awuzie return from the reserve/COVID-19 list and cornerback Anthony Brown (ribs) return to full practice this week. All three corners have not been active for the Cowboys in the same game this season since the season opener against the Los Angeles Rams.

The Cowboys also expect safety Donovan Wilson (groin) to be back in the lineup.

Dallas also placed two players on the reserve/injured list in cornerback Deante Burton and linebacker Justin March. Both will be out for the remainder of the regular season.

The Cowboys also signed offensive tackle Jordan Mills from the practice squad, and running back Sewo Olonilua and cornerback Chris Westry were elevated from the practice squad.

Olonilua will be an insurance policy for running back Ezekiel Elliott (calf), who is listed as questionable but expected to be available against the 49ers.
