BUCCANEERS VS CHIEFS
Raymond James Stadium | 10:30am AEDT
Third downs could be the critical component of Super Bowl LV. The Kansas City Chiefs are comfortable in any down and distance and converted 49 percent of third downs in the regular season. In the playoffs, Kansas City has been potent with teams failing to cover tight end Travis Kelce and speedy receiver Tyreek Hill. Hill had 203 receiving yards in the first quarter alone with the Chiefs beat the Buccaneers in this same stadium in Week 12. While the Buccaneers are again whole on the defensive line with nose tackle Vita Vea, the Chiefs are shorthanded on the offensive line due to injuries. The big one is left tackle Eric Fisher, which leads backup Mike Remmers into the starting role and matchup with Jason Pierre-Paul. That could bring heat to the pocket where Patrick Mahomes is also dealing with a toe injury. The Chiefs have confidence in their plan to slow Brady with defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo calling the shots. He’s been effictive in past meetings with Brady by blizting infrequently but peppering the edges with wide rush lanes. Brady expects a full complement of weapons on Sunday with Antonio Brown (knee) back in the mix after missing the NFC title game. The Chiefs are likely to see plenty of Leonard Fournette, who has been a strong presence in the running game. Chewing up clock with Fournette and Ronald Jones can only work if the Bucs jump ahead — and stay there.
