Sportsbet has been in operation in Australia since 1993 and was purchased in 2009 by Irelands most successful betting companies Flutter Entertainment PLC. They have become the most popular online bookmakers in Australia and are considered to be one of the best.

Sportsbet offer punters an impressive range of betting products for racing and sports in addition to fantastic weekly betting promotions. The mobile app is in our top 3 when compared to others, and you will find tremendous value across the most popular betting markets for Australian and international events.

We spent a week betting with them to see what they provide punters and how they compared to the others. This review contains the best features we found while betting with them. Although they are very competitive when compared to the other bookmakers, it is clear that the like of Ladbrokes and Beteasy offer a more extensive range of betting products.

Sportsbet Highlights

Below are the key points of difference between them and the rest of the bookmakers. If you think they are what you are looking for in a bookmaker, then please open an account below.

Betting Tips & Insights – For each race, you will have access to expert tips by Best Bets. They provide four tips for each race with some insights for each of the runners. You can access the sports tips via the Sportsbet Blog. The content is reasonably good quality but does not go into much depth as you get elsewhere.

Sportsbet Power Plays – enhance your odds for racing and sports bets with a push of a button. You can also use it for multi and exotic bets. You only get one to use each day, and you can cash out on the bet if you like. This feature is not unique to Sportsbet, but it is worth mentioning that they offer it to punters.

The Fold by Sportsbet – The fold allows you to cancel a single win only bet and get your full stake back for one racing bet each day. It is not available for all race meeting, just selected Australian and New Zealand races. You cannot use it on all in or future bets though. Its a cool feature that we used a few times, but you need to watching the race to utilise it fully.

The Apple version worked well and operated reliably and fast during our testing. The navigation lets you find the betting markets you need quickly and if you place multi bets often then this app is worth checking out. We didn’t think it was the best online bookmaker app in Australia but is clearly in the top 3.
